Mining & Local Traditions Salt Mine and Schloss Trautenfels

After your subterranean adventure at Altaussee Salt Mine, you will make your way from the depths of the mine all the way up to Schloss Trautenfels. Even the drive there is a memorable experience, especially when this beautiful castle at the foot of the Grimming first comes into view. Once you are there, you should definitely clmb to the top of the lookout tower - the panorama is simply breathtaking! Yet the interior of the castle is certain to captivate you as well: Baroque is mixed with modern architectural accents, providing a unique backdrop for exhibitions that grant profound insights into makes the region "tick".
