Salt Mine & "Hofkäserei Fürstenhof" organic dairy

Before descending into the heart of the mine on your discovery of the ancient and fascinating history of salt mining, get an energy refill from the breathtaking nature, green pastures, and clean air of the mountains. In the past, Fürstenhof in Kuchl was used by the Archbishops of Salzburg as an inn for lodgings and to provide shelter for their horses. Today the green pastures that surround it are home to the cows that provide the dairy farm with the precious raw material for its cheese: natural milk. During your visit to the dairy, you will discover the art of making cheese and how to appreciate the flavours of this noble food at a tasting session in the dairy.
