From the Salt Mine to the City of Salzburg

The history of the White Gold is experienced at first hand during your journey into the mysterious underground salt mine.

In the second part of this journey discovering the history of Salzburg, you will be introduced to the city's unique architectural and cultural treasures. On a professionally guided walking tour, you will be provided with background information, trivia, and amusing anecdotes from the history of the city.

  • Admission to the Celtic Museum in Hallein
  • Admission to the Silent Night Museum in Hallein
    (Currently closed because of renovation - Reopening 2018)
  • Guided walking tour through Salzburg’s old town (duration: about 1.5 hours)

SUGGESTED SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY:

  • 9:00 a.m.: Guided tour of the salt mine with Miners' Welcome
  • 11:00 a.m.: Visit to the Celtic/Silent Night museums in Hallein
  • 12:00 p.m.: Lunch optionally
  • 2:00 p.m.: Departure to Salzburg (travel time: about 35 minutes)

Subsequent guided walking tour through Salzburg’s old town (duration: about 1.5 hours).
