Salzwelten Salzburg
"The White Gold Adventure"
“Everything’s new!” is the apt motto on the Dürrnberg. Aside from the new reception area, you are now greeted by an interactive journey through time and the entire salt cycle: Allow us to introduce you to the world of modern salt production. After a swift ride underground on the mine train, the gates to four epochs of salt mining will be opened to you – from mining as it is done today, you will then pass through the golden Baroque age and the murky Middle Ages, finally arriving in Celtic times. Want to learn more about the “Essence of Life”? Then be sure to explore the Celtic Mountain including SALINA Celtic Village, the Salt Manufactory and the playground. The cool & clever companion for all explorers big and small. New now! "The Missing Salt Amulet" – the puzzle rally at the Celtic Mountain.

Salzwelten Hallstatt: A New Way to Experience Adventure
While the world’s most modern funicular is being built in Hallstatt and the salt mine takes a break, unforgettable adventures still await. With our All-Inclusive Tour, you can conveniently travel daily by shuttle service directly to Altaussee, home to Austria’s largest active salt mine – complete with slides, an underground salt lake, and the moving history of rescuing art treasures during World War II.
A visit to Hallstatt itself is also worthwhile: in the new Salzwelten Market Shop, we invite you on selected days to enjoy free salt tastings. Here you can discover and savor the variety of “white gold” from Austria’s mountains.
Starting in summer 2026, we look forward to welcoming you back in Hallstatt with the funicular, salt mine, high valley, and Skywalk.
